Mathew Cyriac, MD

Dr. Mathew Cyriac is an orthopaedic surgeon with specialized training in spine surgery. Dr. Cyriac received his medical degree from Albany Medical College and completed an orthopaedic surgery residency at George Washington University Hospital, followed by a Spine Surgery fellowship at Emory University in Atlanta. Dr. Cyriac also holds an M.B.A. in Healthcare Management from Albany Medical College.

Specializing in the management of degenerative cervical, thoracic, and lumbar spine conditions, as well as complex spinal deformity, such as adult scoliosis and sciatica. Dr. Cyriac utilizes the latest non-operative and operative treatment options.

Dr. Cyriac is an expert in extreme lateral interbody fusion (XLIF) which is a minimally invasive procedure performed through the side of the body to treat spinal disorders and reduce long-term back or leg pain that has not responded to other treatments, such as steroid injections, physical therapy and pain medication. Examples are cervical disc replacement and laminoplasty as an alternative to spinal fusions. Dr. Cyriac is willing to tackle some of the most complex spine problems including failed back surgery syndrome. 

Dr. Cyriac sees patients at Sports Medicine Plus, Tulane Lakeside Hospital, and the Southeast Louisiana Veterans Health Care System.
