AAOS Annual Meeting - March 7-11, 2023

Tulane Orthopaedic Chairman Felix H. “Buddy” Savoie III, MD, FAAOS, oversaw the AAOS Annual Meeting in Las Vegas, NV, as the 90th President of the Academy. He gave his President’s speech and was later joined by his wife, Amy, and PGA Champion Tom Watson as Mr. Watson shared his inspiring stories with the AAOS membership.

Drs. Mary Mulcahey, Michael O’Brien, and Buddy Savoie participated in numerous panel discussions throughout the week. Ten papers were accepted and displayed with a contribution from a member
of our Tulane team. In addition, Drs. Cody Cole, Barrett Hawkins, Thomas Hodo, and Akshar Patel, otherwise known as “The New Mistakes,” participated in the Resident Bowl at AAOS 2023. They tested their trivia knowledge against other residents training across the country.

As a member of the OVT committee, Dr. Cole reviewed videos of novel techniques this past year and had the opportunity to present the awards to the winners with the committee. Finally, we enjoyed seeing many of our alums at the TU Caldwell Society Alumni Reception. We hope to see y’all next year in San Francisco!
